This site is from Scholastic's "Writing with Writers" web site. Published author Virginia Hamilton gives a thorough step-by-step explanation of descriptive writing. Then you can write your own descriptive piece and upload it to the site for others to see. Finally, you can read all of the descriptive writing pieces that other students have submitted.
