http://chompchomp.com/exercises.htm#Comma_Splices_and_Fused_Sentences This section from Grammar Bytes has five interactive exercises with twenty questions in each. They all cover the problem of comma splices and fused sentences, and how to fix them with conjunctions, periods, semicolons, and subordinate clauses. The exercises use a variety of question styles and all give detailed feedback for each answer. The questions are also provided as printable handouts, so you can follow along on paper. Finally, there is an excellent "Tips" handout that teaches the rules for fixing comma splices and fused sentences. |
